Within the box of language stories, a frequently disregarded sector is that of people’s perceptions of language: what counts as language for audio system, and what doesn’t. This lecture engages in a couple of reflections on how realization to that box of perceptions adjustments our view of language studying and language services.

In case of failure for that test, they would have to take a Dutch language course and pass a second test. Upon selection, they will get a two-year probation contract after which they would be assessed as to the timing of rent payments and the extent to which they cause ‘nuisance’ in their neighbourhoods. We see an implicit image of a ‘good citizen’ here, and the collocation of language and money in this image is of course intriguing. 2. The woman is left anonymous here.
